Beta Update: All platforms

The Beta channel has been updated to 4.0.249.43 for Linux, Windows and Mac. It was cut at r34532. The release includes stability improvements for Linux and Linux, Windows and Mac.


All platforms


  • Fixed several common crashes


Windows and Linux

  • Fix bug 28795 - Added a notification says "xxx is synched." if you are already synced and click that button.
Linux
  • Fixed bug 28061 - Add popup support for page action extensions.
Known issues
  • Mac only: bug 29121 - You'll get an error when checking for updates using the About Google Chrome dialog. 'Update server not available' (error : 12). Regardless of the error message, the update is successful.

Stable update: Crash fixes

Google Chrome's Stable channel has been updated to version 3.0.195.38. (The Stable channel is still Windows-only.)


This release fixes a couple of browser crashes:
  • r31694 fixes a crash while typing in the omnibox (issue 20511).
  • r32474 fixes a crash while playing mp4 videos with odd sizes, such as 1366x768 (issue 27675).

Dev Channel Update

The Dev channel has been updated to 4.0.266.0 for Windows and Linux.

No mac updates this week, we are working to get a version out soon.

Beta Update: Linux, Mac, and Windows

We're happy to announce that Google Chrome 4.0.249.30 has been promoted to the Beta channel on Windows, Mac, and Linux.


In addition to introducing our first Beta versions on Mac and Linux, this update introduces Google Chrome extensions on Windows and Linux. Read more about this Beta update on the Google Chrome Blog


This release is the same as 4.0.249.25 with a fix to make the HTML video tag work.


Users can subscribe to the Beta channel by installing from

Dev Channel Update

The Dev channel has been updated to 4.0.249.22 for Linux, Mac, and Windows.

All
  • [r33013] Disable --enable-user-scripts. (Issue: 27520)
    • NOTE: You can now install user scripts by navigating to them. You will have to reinstall your current scripts (they aren't migrated).
  • [r33086] Remove toolstrips API. (Issue: 24475)
  • [r32875] Turn on HTML5 DBs by default.

Mac
  • [r32793] Omnibox no longer becomes too long for window after installing a few themes (Issue: 28476)
  • [r32843] Display a warning dialog if there was a problem reading the profile (Issue: 26377)
  • [r32943] Switch "Save" and "Discard" buttons on dangerous download warning to match platform standard. (Issue: 28638)
  • [r33105] Show feedback while dragging bookmarks (Issue: 17608)
  • [r33243] Implement non-admin autoupdate (Issue: 16360)

Known Issue
  • [MAC] (Issue: 29121) If a user clicks "Set Up Automatic Updates for All Users" and later clicks "Update Now" from the About Box, an error 12 will be displayed. The product is updated successfully; restarting the browser will apply the update.
