Chrome for Android Update

The Chrome team is happy to announce the availability of Chrome for Android on Intel x86 devices, which means that if you have an Android device based on x86, you’ll now be able to experience the speed, security, and simplicity of Chrome.

Chrome 18.0.1026311 is now available for download on Google Play and from the Google Play Store on your Intel x86 based mobile device.  Known issues are available on the Chrome support site.  If you find a new issue, please let us know by filing a bug.  More information on Chrome for Android is available on the Chrome site.

Why is Chrome still at 18 for Android? That's 4 full versions behind the desktop version.

This is really annoying me. Chrome for iOS is 3 versions ahead and it's taken over what now, 3 months to get two updates for Chrome for Android?

It's frusterating because the Chrome for Android browser is terrible and lags, even with a Nexus 7. Whereas on an iOS device, it's quite a bit better at rendering and Java in general.

At least release a Dev Channel or a beta channel for Chrome for Android. This Chrome releases blogspot have said there's going to be a channels for dev and beta testers, yet that's no where to be seen.

Sorry for the long wall of words, just frusterated.

Chrome for android is so laggy even on my Nexus 7! It forces me to use Dolphin Browser instead. The worst part is the lack of full screen. Almost all other browsers supports full screen. No even ios devices support it! But Chrome does not...I think Chrome even should hide the software buttons an maybe have a swiping gesture to show the buttons.

Please make the browser what it should be....the best out there!

Don't make me laugh...

Works like a charm on my HTC Sensation. No lags, rendering problems or whatever.

WE are still after fullscreen mode like the stock browser , the ability to go to the toolbar by swipping up. This browser lack that important screen space.

Same problem with my Acer running Android x86. How do I get the play store to serve me up x86 apps? A specific entry in build.prop perhaps?

As filed unter [1], Chrome for Android 18.0.1026311 isn't compatible to Android-x86 4.x - so it's even the same as last year: No Chrome Browser at all for Android x86 devices ...
